Welcome to the Georgia Chapter, American Public Works Association. We are a thriving professional association that is part of the international APWA. We have a number of events for members, prospective members , and friends of the Chapter. Among these are our Certificate of Public Works Management program in association with the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia. There are two sessions each year of this training , one in January in Athens and one in July in conjunction with our Annual Meeting. In addition to these and our Annual Meeting itself, we also host a Show each year in February at the Georgia National Fairgrounds at Perry . This show is in it's 29th year with over 100 exhibitors and 1000 attendees in 2013. We also hold a Golf Tournament each year, usually in June , to raise funds for our Scholarship program. We are sad to learn of the passing on October 23rd of 2012 of our friend, colleague, and former President , Ray Southern of Cartersville.
